(Pole) Goût de Châtaigne d’Échenans is an old variety from Eastern France. The beautiful seeds come in colours from bluish, purple, to a mix of cream and purple. The pods fresh pods are green. As a dry bean they are described as having a nutty and buttery flavour for which they were named. The name translates to “taste of chestnut of Échenans”. ¹
