(Bush) The name Krummschnabel translates into English to roughly be ‘crooked’ or ‘curved’ beak. This name aptly reflects the curved pods, a trait common to European kipfler type beans. Krummschnabel later received mention in the 1910 German language Haage & Schmidt Haupt Verzeichnis. It is described as “…dickfleischige Brech-…” (‘dickfleischige’ translates to thick-fleshed).
