Baniéne Runner
From Regina Baniéne in Lithuania, who operates Saint Ambrosius Garden. No variety name is known for these beans, so I have since called them Baniéne Runner Beans.
The two variations of seed coat are pale pink with a black “spiral” at the hilum and solid white. Regina shared that, “our family has been growing these beans for at least 80 years, but probably twice as long. My mother brought them from her birthplace on the border between East Prussia and Samogitia about 40 years ago.” She notes that the two colours should be cooked seperately to prevent staining the white beans.
