Cuzco

(Field) (aka Choclo) A giant Peruvian corn variety. Height is up to 14ft tall with giant tooney sized kernels. In Peru, Cuzco corn is sold frozen in bags for corn on the cob. Described as being chewier and creamy with a less sweet and starchier taste than North American corns. The cultivation of this corn dates to pre-1492. Apparently this variety is quite shade tolerant.
