(Flint/Flint) A traditional staple food dryland farmed below the Hopi mesas by the Hopi tribe of Arizona. 2 Kernel type is of floury flint.
This variety is utilized for grinding into flour. 1 The Hopi people traditionally mixed this flour with juniper ash and baked it into a thin ceremonial crepe-like bread called Piki. “Sister” flour varieties include Hopi Pink, and Hopi Purple.
