Indian Blue Sweet

(Sweet) A white and yellow coloured sweet corn bred by Ira Hooker.
“[…] named after Ira Hooker who developed this short stature (4-6’), early maturing sweet corn to ripen successfully in the cloudy and rainy Olympic Peninsula of Washington state.” (Siskiyou Seeds, 2024 1)
According to Mandy Botincan of Tyndall, Manitoba, this variety was developed in the 1930s. (Mandy’s Greenhouse 2)
Through the maturity process the kernels turn pink, and later a medium blue. Seed is unique with a pink line seperating the blue seed coat and white tip cap. Territorial Seed states, “First obtained by Ira Hooker over 70 years ago near Olympia, Washington.” (Territorial Seed, 2024 3)
