Meuch

(Coco bariolé noir, Meuch, schwarzgesprickelte Schmalz)
(Pole) High producing variety from Switzerland. It appears to have been a popular variety in the 1940’s as there are old newspapers where it is listed for sale. (Isabelle Flueckiger, 2025)
Small round beige seeds with black streaks and speckles. Fresh green pods are curved pods and streaked with purple.
“[…] proven variety that your grandmother was sure to have grown. […] Harvest them when pods are full, but not too late and bulging. You can even use the dry beans in soup to give it that characteristic Meuch flavour.” 1 (Zollinger Bio)
