Pusa Gulabi
(Winter / Daikon) Open-pollinated daikon radish with light pink skin and bright pink core. The name Pusa Gulabi translates into English to mean ‘Pusa Pink’. This variety was released 2013. It was developed by Dr. Pritam Kalia at The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR-IARI, or Pusa Institute) in New Delhi, India. The Pusa Institute states that it displays, “high total carotenoids, anthocyanins and optimal ascorbic acid”. Interestingly, Pusa Gulabi is listed as higher yielding of the two Pusa radish cultivars.
