(Bush) Introduced by Sutton in 1909, and is considered to be likely of French origin. Magpie was introduced from France in 1913 by Carter.
Superlative and Magpie were originally considered different varieties. According to Hedrick, U.P., circa 1937 “The two as now found are identical”.
